Default New HU and amp wiring

I've just finished wiring up my new headunit and active sub, all works great but ive had to use the permanent live wiring for the sub remote on and for the HU itself...which isnt perfect I know! I've read a bit on here about having to use the cigarette lighter for an ignition live? How do you go about wiring that up, as my only one is next to the gear stick? (my wiring skills generally suck...)

Is it possible to reset the clock on the dash now I've upgraded the HU? Seems to be stuck on midnight

remove the ashtray and you will see the wires for the cigarette lighter , just wire your wire into the black wire on the cig lighter

    and

no you cant adjust the clock , you will need to put the original hu back in it for it to automatically set

    Thanks for the reply!

Hmm thought that'd be the case with the clock, guess I'll have to start wearing a watch then

Does the trim around the lighter just pull away and then you drop the remote cable down the back of the heater unit?

    exactly

remove the plastic surround for the gear lever ( just pulls ou )
    remove the ashtray inner
then just remove the ashtray outer
