needed to hammer down one more nail as I about to put laminate flooring down and bang.....went straight through a copper water radiator pipe...

all the water is off and I've got the heater on to try and dry the wood out and the ceiling below.....just went down to halfords to buy some paste sealant stuff that hardens after 10 mins. It says on the packet ideal for holes in fuel tanks, leaking pipe, burst pipes etc.

I've just put the second layer on so I hope it will work.....hardener plus some other stuff...mix it together and after 10 mins it sets hard.....

just hope i've managed to seal the holes!

Dude just dont trust that fix it putty stuff for tooo long as the heat form the central heating will weaken it over time........Get the pipe repaired as soon as you can. That stuff is only meant for a quick fix. If I was more local I would do it for you mate as its only a 10 minute job for us plumbers lol..........

Scotty ah that would be brilliant if you were local.....

Thing is - at the moment the boilers' and there are two in this house packed up - the one that supplies the radiators. i've turned the water back on and just waiting with fingers crossed!

Before any of this happened when using the hot tap it would come on as normal for about 10 seconds and then spurt and spit at you and then die down to a dribble and that's with the tap fully on!

What on earth could that be? It does that in the whole house on the hot taps......fancy coming down next weekend and I'll pay your petrol and the rest
