Default Got my cat-back done at MIJ today - little review

    Hi peeps

Got my cat-back done today at MIJ in Walsall. Went for twin outlet - one side (just to be different) in what they call "mid-sport" sound. I am chuffed to bits. I arrived about 8-50am for my 9-00am booking and the owner took my details and confirmed what I wanted then he gave me the money for a cuppa from the machine and said he would come and discuss exact requirements once my exhaust was off my car and it was on the ramp ready to go. I sat and read the paper for a while while they took my old exhaust off. Then Jay came and took me into the workshop where we chatted about what I wanted and he went through ideas about cutting the rear valance and how my tail pipes would sit and what look I wanted and sound. I wanted a sporty sound without sounding too loud and I didn't want to sound too Chavvy he understood and said leave it with them.

About two hours later it was done, lovely neat job exactly what I wanted and very nice work around the pipes where my rear valance was cut and shaped. In my photos they look like they stick out from the rear of the car more than they do, they actually stick out about 15mm from the rear valance. The sound is perfect, louder than standard of course but not too much. At idle almost the same but as revs progress the note is deep and sporty. A drive up the dual carriageway at 70 mph was fine - not too loud.

is your rear bumper the standard one, like on the exclusiv as i fancy a new exhaust but can't be ars.d changing the rear bumper/valance etc.

Hi yes standard rear bumper/valance. Nothing I had to do the guys at MIJ did it. There was no argument or query - they offered and no extra cost for them to cut it and shape it.

They do a great job up there, top quality work, they've done both of my Vec's now and nothing quite beats that drive home hearing it growl like a big cat when you press the fun pedal.
