Cool Deatiling virgin...popping my cherry 2moro...

    Hi guys!

Had my veccy C v6 for about 2 months now, havent washed it and its looking in very bad shape!!

Its flame red, and I have finaly decided to give it a good wash 2moro...

Didnt know what detailign was till I came across this section on this forum, after reading many articles I have finaly decieded to spend the day "detailing" my car so to speak.. This is what I had in mind:

Washing with shampoo (megs) (not drying)
    Claying with meguars clay kit
Washing and drying again (using 2 bucket method!!!)
    Polishing with AG (by hand..)
    Using AG sealant..
Waxing with simoniz carnuba wax (using this just because i happen to have one lying around lol)

ANY Advice would be much appriciated i.e. methods, which cloths to use (i have not bought any equiptment yet, will be making a trip to halfords in the morning)...

Thanks guys, any advice would be much apprictated!!

Dont bother with the 2 bucket method after you've clayed it as there is no need. The 2BM is only really needed if a car is really caked in dirt, for a normal dusty car prewashing with a hose is all thats required. And dont bother with the AG sealant as (1) its crap and (2) the wax your going to apply will remove it anyway.
If you don't have microfibre cloths get your self to your local Asda, they were selling 15 for £3 last time I was in and these are fine for applying and removing the polish and wax. When applying the wax do not load up the cloth, you only want to see a very fine hazing effect on the paint work. I remember years ago when my dad used to wax his cars with turtle wax Wax and what a time it took him to remove it lol. The reason for this is simple, its harder to remove when it goes off, and its wasting wax as applying loads give no benefit as it only ends up on the buffing cloth.
