its mounted under the rear near the osr wheel in line with the body
it has a little clip front and rear to release the snap fits these are a pain but can be accomplished with a small screwdriver
if you dont clamp the pipes before and after the filter expect some fuel to be spilled/sprayed if the sytem is still under pressure so have some rags handy

the filter will then slide out of its holder - make sure you reinsert the new filter with the arrow flowing from the tank to the front of the car reconncet the snap plug and hey presto job done

You can depressurize the fuel system, there will be something looks like a bicycle tyre valve on fuel rail, beneath engine cover. Just press the valve with a rag over it to soak up the squirt.
You are best using needle nose pliers to undo the clips. I struggled with mine a while. Its worth having a couple of small jubilee hose clips handy, in case you damage them getting old one off. I did!
Other than that just make sure you have it right way round. Fuel flows from back of car to front.
I put rear of car on axle stands. It might be possible to do it with car on ground. Don't put your head underneath a car only supported by jack.

Ok, cheers for that, what do you use to clamp the lines either side of the filter?

If you have not run the car for a couple of hours then there will be no pressure so no need to clamp the pipes.

well if the system is depressurized there won't be much spillage...most comes out of the old fuel filter anyway. I suppose you could use anything like mole grips or even strong clothes pegs.I'd be more worried about damaging fuel lines, mind you I expect they are made pretty tough. I didn't bother clamping them, you might use an old plastic ice cream tub to catch old fiiter in, cos the stuff that comes out of it is filthy!

That was going to be my next question lol, car will be cold, parked under the building, going to do the plugs and filter as they're the only serviceable items not changed in the 3 months I've had the car

Oh Nige, spoke to Nicholas @ Neo bros, he said the '06 Vectra T they bought is now in Sweden with Maptun and when it returns it should be running circa 300bhp, they said the will then be offering a 6 stage tuning program for us "Z20NET" owners
