    Default Black smoke at high revs ?????

    well lads and lassies , i dont really drive my vectra hard at all but today i took the it for a good country side blast and noticed that a higher revs it send out a good cloud of blackish smoke from exhaust,,,,,,, any body any ideas ?? she has only been serviced 1000mile ago and ive cleaned egr and boost sensor about 500miles ago

    bro mine used to smoke like anything when i got it and it was an ex-taxi. Since buying it i do alot of motorway mileage and i sit at 90ish and i tell you something mate - no where near as much black smoke as when i first had the car.....

    mine does need a service desperately which i will try and do soon and that should clear up the last of it...

    if you are using fully synthetic oil in your that could be a cause of a little bit of it as fully synthetic can sometime be a bit heavy in diesels and so produces a bit of soot/black smoke....

    How high were the revs ?
    Blac smoke one a diesel isnt a problem its probably just al sooted up and needed a good blst out. blue smoe is what you worry about.

    Excessive black smoke at low revs = intecooler plumbing has hole somewhere.

    And a dose of redex!!! With decent fuel, not supermarket crap!
