thanks for running a very useful forum.

My 3.2 GSi has started making a high pitched noise from what seems to be from the belt area of the engine. From this forum it seems that it is a tensioner pulley on the drive belt.

(noise is present when car is stationary - but seems to need to get well warmed up before it does it, at least it did today)

This diagnosis seems plausible to me - then I have a few questions:

- is there any risk something breaks or is it ok to ignore it for a while ?

- is there only one ?

- how difficult is the pulley to replace ?

- any idea of the time a garage will charge to do the job ?

Thanks for any suggestions...
