    Default Vauxhall service quote £316

Just phoned vauxhall for a quote for a 40, 000 mile service on 1.9 cdti.

£316 , I asked what this included and the first thing they mentioned " Spark plugs. "

needless to say i have refused. I had to contact them 4 times to get this quote and try book an Mot ..... so long vauxhall.

Booked in somwhere else for service MOT and Aircon recharge for £220.

Easy enough for the Service Department assistant to requote for the correct engine
That price would be quite fair for a 1.8 or 2.0 petrol so the price for the 1.9 CDTI wouldn't be far off that (once adjusted)

To be honest its more the level of servie i have experianced from this dealership across the board.

I bought the car on 31st of may last year, this was a sunday so I couldnt collect till it was serviced and mot`ed as part of the sale deal along with getting the tracking sorted out.

I had to take it back twice for the tracking and the service was a rubber stamp in the book because I ended up replacng the air, pollen and fuel filters myself. I have phoned them 3 times and sent an online booking request to book this Mot + Service over the last 3 days.

I get off the phone after they tell me they cant book me in for monday (mot only) they have even asked the service manager and its imposible to get my car in.

1 hour later i get a call from the dealership saying they have picked up my booking request and will book me in for monday no problem plenty of slots free.

There is only so much being messed around you can take but being told they will change my spark plugs as part of the service just really was the last straw. << that was on the final call.

I totally understand - I've recent started thinking "if they don't want my money I'll go elsewhere" when it comes to slack people. If I find myself making too much effort so give someone cash for something then it's not worth it. They should be as helpful as possible, no second chances any more.

Think I'm just getting grumpy as I "mature" lol

That's not far off mine, I went with a known good independent, bought oil, sump O ring, oil, fuel and pollen filters on trade card for £52, then he serviced and safety checked it for me for £60, £112 total. Dealer quoted £180 with them supplying parts.
