    Talking CDR2005 Upgrade.....

Well, my CDR2005 HU has finally given up the ghost and will not spit out my Dragonforce CD (Through the Fire and Flames if you're interested......).

I'm looking at an Xtrons TD717 (Linky:http://www.xtrons.co.uk/2-DIN-car-dv...yer-TD717.html) as I aint too bothered about GPS at the mo.

I know the Xtrons get some good reviews, anyone got one of these??
Also the HU supports "Analogue" steering wheel controls, and I think my half CANBUS is digital (Yes/No?)

Any views/news or reviews appreciated, and if anyone wishes to donate to my new HU then feel free to PM me

    Cheers Guys.

Yeah i've been on the website and had a look, and i like the idea of the detatcheable fascia, it was just more of the steering controls being digital/analolgue. I think full CANBUS was analogue as it was a scrollwheel and half was digital due to the on/off of the buttons but wasn't sure if i'd need an adaptor/conversion for it.

had one of these , the detachable face actually sticks out quite far ( approx 1" ) , thats what put me off as it wasnt flush with the dash

the steering wheel controls are a bit strange

you have to connect 3 wires from the hu harness to the canbus harness , and it doesnt look the easiest thing to do to be honest

    just my 2p worth
