Default Heavy smoke on start up-random

    Hi all,

I have a bit of a random issue.

Over the last month or so I have had the following issue happen twice.

Start the car first thing in the morning and I get clouds of blue/white smoke and idle is a bit lumpy. It continues to smoke when ever I stop in traffic eventually it seems to get better once the car is warm.

We have had it on opcom and no faults showing and no lights on dash but this was after the fault had rectified and all was running normally. The injectors where within tolerance and nothing else seemed unusal.

At no point have any dash lights come on, the car is not using water/oil and the mpg is showing 49 mpg which is normal.

    For ref:
Precat has been replaced with a straight through pipe
    Cat Removed
    Hybrid Turbo
BSR Remap (been on for 3 years at least)
    K and N filter

Turbo is only a few months old. It was Hybridised by AET Engineering.
Seems to only smoke at idle not under stress

It would also be using oil if it was the turbo. Maybe valve stem oil seals? (would still be using oil)

The only time I have had a turbo oil seals go it would only smoke when slowing down as the vacuum caused by the engine as it slowed down (say in gear, stopping for a junction) would suck the oil through the seals and into the engine producing blue smoke.

Maybe whip the hoses off and have a look for oil in the boost pipes?
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I put it down to poor fuel in the end. I always fill the tank to the brim due to the miles I do and I think it eventually flushed it out.

I have always filled up with supermarket fuel with all my cars and this is the first issue I have had with fuel. I still cannot prove it was the fuel as the issue has never come back (touch wood)

I think I would be inclined to empty the tank and change the fuel filter if it happened again

I use whichever supermaket fuel I am passing when I need to fill up. I would say that 50% of the time it is Tesco
