Default Got a V6 have twin zorsts but going single - ok?

Hi peeps, going to MIJ for a cat back. Have a V6 2.8t with twin back boxes as standard. It is actually a single pipe right till back of car and then splits to two back boxes and exits either side. I want a single pipe and back box with a twin outlet of the back box on one side of the car. There are no issues I can see as it's a single pipe right to the back of the car as standard so should be fine surely???? Do I go a specific bore diameter or what they do as normal ?

    Thanks in advance

I called around a few exhaust companies and asked them for their advice and prices.

For the 2.0 T I had anything from 3"-2.5" for down pipes. 2.5"-2" for the mid section into the boxes ranging from 2.25"-1.75".

One company told me there is no point in increasing the standard bore size as the cars don't push out enough power.

A few said not to have more than 2" into the back boxes as the gases will just be sitting their as you have 4/5 inch coming off a mid pipe of 2-2.5.

So I decided I am going to go for 3" down pipe, 2.5" mid section into 2 inch in the boxes.

    Tim,

i will be interested to see what you do with this..... i considered this option as it would be the same rear exhaust box configuration as on the Focus and Rs's and they sound amazing under load

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven

Hi Dez yes I prefer to see an exit on one side but twin pipes, maybe be a little more fruity raspy sound too I think. Plus I want to be a little different and a little less noticeable.

Like this but not an Audi

Thanks as my wife says "you always have to be awkward don't you"
I really like my picture, as long as MIJ can do it like that - that's what I am having on. Booked in end of the week so will see.
