Yip bud, I believe the Alfa unit is a bit more advanced, and according to a diesel specialist I used they may have dropped the swirl flaps - possibly. Though I stand corrected otherwise.

Yeah so there is an 8v and a 16v - which I guess are both the same.

Im liking the idea of a 156 1.9 16v Estate (Sportwagon)

One of the lads next door as a 1.9 150 bhp Alfa GT and he has no end of issue with his. Especially funny when it kept locking him out in the freezing weather as the electrics stopped working.

Alfa still use the swirl flaps on the later 16v and 20v units but I have only ever changed 1 inlet manifold with a problem and I work for Alfa , yes they are basically the same unit with a few changes

Just the man - was gonna ask you on VVOC.

So - anything specifically 156 related that I shoudl look out for? Timing belt interval the same as VX?

also - whats the 2.4 unit like - is that the 20v?

    Cheers mate - appreciate it

cambelts are at 72k basically the Alfa lumps seems to suffer less problems than the Vectra

the 20v version is the 1 to have its a 2.4 , 5 cylinder engine kicking out 175bhp as standard but easy and reliably tuned to 220bhp
