Just had my 60k service done and they havent changed any of the filters!
Not one!
Surely the oil, air, pollen and fuel filters should be done, or am I not right?
They charged 200 quid and extra to do the brake fluid and coolant!

or is this right every 40k miles?
I would imagine the filters would be replaced every service lol, and for £200 I'd expect a bit more
You've been ripped off mate - for that service and for that price everything should have been changed...
I would have expected oil filter, air filter, pollen filter, fuel filter, spark plugs and an oil change at least.
Pollen filter is officially every 2 years.
Air filter and fuel filter aren't yearly items either.
OP's car is a diesel, so no spark plugs, but even if there were, they are long change intervals as well. eg, the 2.2 engine official change is 80,000 miles or 8 years.
Should have had an oil and oil filter change though. It's hard sometimes to tell if the oil has been changed though on a diesel as it goes black again very soon after changing it.
Who carried out the service, independent or dealership?
The dealership should supply you with quite a bit of paperwork, if you are paying for the service :
Service worksheet, listing job specifics
Service Receipt, listing parts and their costs
Payment Receipt
Service Book stamped as appropriate in sections
The Service Book you have will list at the front the Service specifics and parts, as required
This should match the Service Worksheet you were supplied with
The stamp will also confirm which service was carried out (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and minor or major)
Finally, the Service Receipt will list the parts
If none have been replaced, then take the car back ASAP and discuss with the Service Manager, don't even ask at reception, take it straight to the top...
20k or every year so id expect oil, oil filter, pollen filter, air filter, fuel filter, brakes checked and hooked up for software updates. Brake fluid should have been done every 3 years so not required at this service and coolant has no service interval but as a minimum lasts 5 years so should have been done at this service as an extra. How do you know they never did any of the filters, did you mark them?
Before getting carried away, what was included for 200quid surely you asked when you got a quote. What is stated on the invoice? What makes you believe its not been done?
Nothings been changed because I checked the service items.
I will wait to see the paperwork once it arrives on my desk!
They stamped it up as a major service in the book, and I paid extra for the brake fluid, and coolant flush and change.
I checked the oil, its been changed, filter has also.
So I had a basic service for a major cost!!
Done by a main dealer in the town here...........
