I'd go for an enclosed induction mate, a normal cone type filter will only suck up the warm air in your engine bay and give you high intake temps
Have a look at the BMC CDA I fitted to my 2.0T

To be honest mate I have tried them all, each to varying degrees of success. I have had a normal third party double cone, a bsr optiflow, a high flow panel filter and and high flow panel filter in a modded airbox. I am not talking about the standard
airbox mod I refer to the extra holes in the front end of it. I found the last method gave me engine which is way more tuned
    than yours more response.

Sorry if this reads like crap but I am restricted to me phone for internet since I tried seeing if my laptop would bounce.

Nige knows his stuff and has probably pit more time and effort into tuning his 2.0T so he won't tell you something not true.

I am just running the high flow filter and modified air box. No cone here, infact when my car was on tue RR chap said to me I hope your not using one of those cone filters lol.

The vent should be in the front mate - not the back. As per my thread here http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=122068

Same way I did mine, although I used multiple small holes instead of one big one.

I am sure all these additional holes must not be a good thing guys?

How does the air flow increase having done them?

Would the cold air not simply flow out of the box while the warm air enters it? (Diffusion process?).

Same principle would apply to heating your house up and opening all the windows. the warm air would pass out while the coolerair comes in. Surely the reverse will occur during this, with the colder air being fed into the engine moving to the warmer areas within the engine and the warm air doing the opposite??
