    Default 1.9 CDTi

    right guys,

i've had my Vec C a couple of days now, so far so good

    just a couple of things:

    1. temperature gauge doesn't seem to work all the time? 20 mile trip at 70mph, gauge didn't move till i parked up? gauge sat at 80 degrees round town, when i glanced at it mid journey was at zero, then back up to 80?

    2. when i turn engine off, it judders? not had diesel before, is it normal?

    3. the buttons on both keys are worn/damaged beyond recognition. is there any way to switch the key & tranponder (?) to a new body/housing? where could i get the body.housing from?

    4. its only a club spec, but has cruise control, option/normal? (nice to have )

    thanks matt

    1. Change the thermostat, been talked about a lot on here. Did mine and made the difference.

    2. Check the oil level, it might be overfilled or could be some carbon deposits causing it to keep running? *awaits to be corrected / corroborated*

    3. If your wallet is not hurting too much, maybe see about getting the flip key from Vauxhall. Give them your car pass (should be in the document wallet?) and they can cut it to the right shape and then they will program it to the car.

    4. AFAIK, cruise was standard on early models (maybe all of them?) Nice thing to have indeed, not good for economy on long journey's though in my experience.

I got a outer case for the Keys offa Ebay. Swaps over dead easy and works a treat!

The guy who had it before us used his nail to press the button! Eurrrrrrrgh!

Cruise Control was standard on all models/trim levels except Expression (absolute base level below LS on pre-facelift). I understand it was not present on police vehicles though.
