Default and I thought Vec bulb change was bad...

I replaced a blown bulb in my good lady's Toyota Avensis at the weekend. Well,.. according to the manual, no removal of bumper is required and simply remove the reap cover, unclip and exchange the bulb.

Only .. I need the hands of a skinny midget, and xray vision!!! Once you have one hand on the cable and plug, with your other hand in there with the bulb, you cant see. Also trying to exert pressure to get the bulb secury in is near impossible!!

Lost nearly all my skin and took an hour!!!

Why can't they leave a bit of space for 'essential owner maintenance'?!?!?!?!?!

Renault megane 54. I think the bulb it the 1st thing that went in and the rest of the car was built round it. I say built.... thrown together more like.

Gone are the days of common sense. Would not be so bad if you didn't get a fine and three points for a bulb out,.. but you need to book your car into a dealer (so they say) and have them do it ... in week or so!!

    it's so wrong.

It took me 3.5hrs to change my father-in-laws jag x-type bulb. It's impossible to do it without removing under tray, headlight washers and number then remove the headlight. Down side was there are no instructions and the under tray had loads of screws which inturn held the wheel arch linings in place. Jag dealer quoted £100 to change bulb or £85 if I supplied the bulb

Because it was a pain to do I changed all of the bulbs whilst the front was in bits!

Seems VX/Opel are getting the message. Access much easier on the Insignia.
