Default RUST SPOT-best way to remove please!??!?!

    Folks,

My Vec-B has a nasty rust spot on the drivers back door, its about the size of a 50p piece on the bottom of the door.

Whats the best way to treat this and to get rid as much as possible without having to paint the entire bottom half of the door?

    Thanks.

    Bye bye Vec B

I would scrape away the surface rust/are,gently, and sand it flat. Immediatly apply a coat of rust inhibitor which chemically converts the rust into a stable state and either leave or finish however is suitable.

    A continuation from nikroc
Sand down the area and a little all the way around to bright metal if possible, then wipe with a degreaser or brake cleaner and dry. Then paint on some rust inhibitor paint -Kurust or whatever. Once dry mask off area around car and spray with light coats of primer - lightly sand bewteen each coat with fine wet & dry paper. Give it several coats of top coat paint, again light sand with fine wet & dry then clear laquer over top. For a DIY "on the drive" job that will sort it out.
