Default My Hidden towbar - for info

Just to let you know that I bought ...

    • 314257 - **Towbar Kit** *Vauxhall Detach Towbar Vectra Sal 04/02- 314257
    • 29150509RC - **Wiring Kit** 13 Pin Car Specific Towbar Wiring Vauxhall Vectra 02>>
    • 13pinconv - 13 pin to 2 x 7 pin towbar electric adaptor 13pinconv

Although some time ago, and used on a small trailer, I have just used it for a caravan about 80% weight of the car.
It seems perfectly OK and, best of all, the swan neck when removed, does not show any signs of a tow bar being fitted.
Yes, if you get down low on the ground, you can see the electrical socket but it hardly shows.
I've read a lot about having to remove and/or cut the bumper, so I paid a local garage to fit it for me and they did not remove the bumper, nor make any cuts.
The electrical bits were OK but I seem to remember thay had to disconnect the sound or something like that as it went off all the time. Not an issue for me as I can see the caravan behind me anyway and always check that the lights work.
    Thought you would be interested.
Not sure if I am allowed to say who I bought it from but they are a pretty easy to find towing equipment company on the net. (CLUE!)

I got the Westfalia detachable from them for about £200 and genuine Vauxhall wiring loom from the dealer for about £50. Easy to fit, didn't remove the bumper, undersealed it as I went and the wiring worked straight off. Oh, and a few £ for one of those stepped drills.
