Default Creaking off the rear hatch

Anyone tell me how to adjust the rear hatch and get it to shut up it moans and groans more than the wife!!!!

Seriously, I did adjust the striker / latch but it seems to need a really good slam now and is if anything noisier

Where are you getting the noise from mate? The wife's vec moans like hell when the boot is lifted. Looks like it needs new struts.

When it's closed and I am driving so it sounds as though it is the latch or seal area?

I have the same creaking noise Derek but i've never had a chance to mess about and fix it. I recon that making the too tight makes it worse. Due to the size of the bootlid I recon its the chassis of the car flexing and off course if the boot is held to tightly in place it's gonna creak like hell

I first noticed it was down to flexing when I first hitched the van on as the weight of the van seems to keep the chassis a little more rigid.

My next port of call will be to slacken the boot lid to see if that makes a difference

Hi had the same problem Creaking like mad. It was a easy fix open the tailgate there's 2 adjusters 1 either side. To adjust you need to get a large spanner on the big nut thing turn it anticlock to adjust and turn the knobs to suit then lock it in turning clockwise job done. Hope this helps
