    Default Reviving older cloth seats

Hello all, Sorry for the long post.

I met a fellow member this weekend that had some SRi Prefacelift seats, door cards and centre console for sale at a very nice knock down price.

Cheers Governor. It was good to meet you and thank you very much for the purchase.

Once I got the lot home and unpacked in to the kitchen I set about them for a cleanup and revamp.

Oh they are Prefacelift Sri Items to replace my battered Facelift items.

My plan was just to clean them with upholstery cleaner and bring the plastic back to life with Autoglym bumper care.

My wife then said I had something that might help you make them look a bit better.

After the initial shock wore off that the fact she was taking an interest, she then produced one of them little battery powered gadgets that removes the bobbles from your jumpers.

So after the fabric and plastic clean had dried I started to use her gadget and then went to town with it. Love this device!

All I can say is wow! I would have taken before pic's but it was not my intention to photograph anything, but after I saw the results I had to post here.

Now these seats are at least 5 - 6 years old if not older and I am impressed with how they tuned out. The drivers side has some tears to the bolster but is in much better condition than mine.

Next job is to fit them to my Vec and dump the fronts. They had been abused too many times to rectify unless anyone wants them for free.

After that it’s the same process for the rears but that I’m not in a hurry to do. Will let the kids kill the rears first then replace them.

So here are some photos of how they turned out.

The kids love the fact that I have car seats in the kitchen and even the wife doesn't mind as long as I fit them when the weather picks up. I’m a lucky man

And last of all the fluff it removed. Was more than I expected.

They have come up a treat. I bought one of those gadgets from Asda, it was about £5 or£6. Well worth it to bring new life back into clothe,s and car seats "etc".

A simple disposable Bic style razor does a good job too, if you don't have one of those fuss away machines.
