Default Look what I have got back!!!

Picker her up from the MB bodyshop on Friday. Thrilled with the end result!

After the work started, it was found that there was no mechanical damage! Which was brilliant. The wheel alignment was well out but a full 4 wheel Geometry session sorted all that out.

So a new bonnet, complete wiper set up, windscreen and new scuttle sorted the damage.

So I had them re-paint the front bumper and front wings to ensure there was not any stone chips.

Then they machine polished the whole shell for me to remove all the swirl marks etc.

Fantastic to drive it again, it's only been four weeks but it felt like months!!

The colour match is perfect and they did not blend into the front doors when paiting the wings.

I asked why they could match the paint and match the bumper etc, the bodyshop managers answer was quite logical!

He said MB dealers have to use the same paint supplier and colour codes etc like they do in the factory for painting them new.

Most other bodyshops buy paint from different suppliers who supply there own colour charts!

It drives better now than before! I know I drove through a pot hole about 3 months ago so am wondering if that didnt help.

I have to say I am thinking this is the best car I have ever owned, 8 months into ownership, covered 17000 miles in that time and it still has the novelty factor. But then again, our Freelander 2 still brings a smile to my face nearly 4 years later!

Not really 4 weeks and a day from the day of the accident to getting it back. It was authorised within 7 days, but the bodyshop at Mercedes was stacked out so had to wait a week before it was started.

    So not too bad.
