    Default Help with spraying wheels

So payday is nearly here and I've decided to rub down my alloys and re-spray them black!

Just looking on halfords but a little confused on which paint I can use.

Should I use gloss, satin or matt?

Are the halfords own rattle cans ok to use or should I look for branded?

Also going to spray my calipers blue, can't wait!!

    Thanks!

Im no expert and others will advise you, but if you want an ok job, then these will do. Just remember that the prep work is 90% of the whole job. I have used the can's on a few bodywork item's. With pretty good results, only downfall is the paint is so damn soft!

i used the halfords own satin black on my wheels when i had my ZR and that was fine, like ginge says, prep is 90% of the work, u dont get that right and the wheels wont look good!!
Gloss is harder to apply than satin and matt, but its your choice!

Yeah I'm going to take my time with the prep and make sure it's all done right, last thing I want is a rush job.

Saw one on here can't remember the post but someone done it to their snowflake alloys with rattle cans, I'd be happy if mine turned out like his!

I know the one you mean, It was about 3 weeks ago. That was a very nice finish. However I saw one today, done with can's and unfortunately the paint cracked when he applied a wax. Has to start again.

Guess it's a bit of a gamble then but I presume if you let everything dry completely where you should do fingers crossed it will be a success

I have no doubt, make sure you leave 5 mins between lacquer coats.
