Default Boot lid issue on Vectra C 04 Estate

    Hi there

Greetings from Norway, been a reader for a couple of months, and love the forum, especially the styling section. Didn't know a "old mans car" could get as nice as what you've got in here. =).

Now, i have a problem with my boot lock, a couple of weeks ago it suddenly became a litlle "troubleish", it would unlock when i pressed the rear button several times, noe system in the counting or anything, it could unlock at the 3'rd time or the 20'th time. But now, it wil not unlock at all. The strangest thing, is that when i have locked my car, and it has been locked for a while, lets say, from 10 minutes to over the night, when i then unlock the car via my car-key sentral lock, the boot lid opens halfway, i cannot open the rear lid/door at all, but the lights in the trunk goes on, and i try to press the unlock button at the door several times but no go. So i have to push the lid back in, in lock state. I have checked the fuses, and can't find any relevant for exactly that kind of issue.

Seems like there is a electrical problem regarding the button on the rear lid/door, any one experienced the same problem? And got a solution?

thanks in advance guys and girls =)

    Best regards

Bumping myself with a question, is there a manual way to open the boot on my estate?
Can't find anything on the "wall" behind the boot door.....

    Thanks in advance.

yes you can.. on the lower part from the inside, you can see a round "plate" made out of platick.. remove that, then with the little clever think where you fuelfiller cap can be place, that bit can be inserted and twited to manualy open the boot.

Do you have power tailgate? (electric open close?)

Because the closing then could be the Potentiometer or simply need to lubricate the wire.

About the openning.. try replate the handel...

Not sure what you mean, the button/handler is electric, but its not a selfclose automatic door opener/closer like in expensive models...

Had a little bother with mine, turned out rubber had worn and was not pressing the micro switch. Just added some tape to the back of the rubber button and repositioned the micro switch.

Had the same on mine and it was the solenoid in the catch, sometimes wouldnt allow to open, other times it wouldnt close!

Replaced the boot catch for £40 from the dealer and all has been fine since!
