whenbraking, the car feels as though its braking/releasing/braking/release but very quickly sort of like abs is kicking in but no noise

Sounds like an abs fault - any warning lights - could be a faulty sensor on one of your wheels!

Can you feel it through the pedal and steering wheel

dont feel anything through the pedal, and no warning lights. Only thing i notice is the car sort of jerking back and forth

Maybe a caliper binding on? Best guess try jacking up each corner and spin each wheel and see if any binding.
