    Exclamation Vectra c 2.0 DTI dtc P0400.

Hi, I have the P0400 trouble code problem.

I have replaced the MAF as i was getting the P0100 code ( so fixed that issue).

I replaced the vacuum pipes with 2mm id silicone (in blue ).

Checked the diaphragm on the inlet manifold vacuum plate solenoid and on the turbo waste gate solenoid both hold vac.

Checked vacuum pump which is pulling 25 in hg.

Checked the pipes from airbox to turbo and intercooler to turbo and all are fine.

Stripped and cleaned inlet manufold, boost sensor and egr.

Replaced to egr valve for a new one.

I have checked everything i can think of and still get the P0400 error.

The error P0400 comes up with the service icon on the dash, (spanner in the centre of a car icon), and the car doesn't rev over 3000 rpm. This happens when slowing at lights etc.
After a restart the service light goes and car can rev ok. Then it returns. After a few restarts the engine symbol light comes on after starting the car and the car drives fine.

    Has anyone had similar problems?

As i am typing this i have the plug removed from the ECU and will replace it after 20 minutes to see if that helps.

    Help!!!!

either tech 2 from vx or if you know somebody with opcom, opcom allows you to view live data of most of the engine components. My m8s car had this exact problem but his turned out to be the tiny vac pipe at the back of the engine, replaced that and its been fine since. But youve replaced all the vac pipes, so cant be that. One thing you could try is blanking the egr, a bit of a fidly job but doing so determines if there is a fault with the egr system

I am over in Northern Ireland, near Portadown. I might try blanking the egr as you have sugested. Would the best method be a plate cut to suit the egr seat profile and bolted on using the egr retaining bolts?

check the whole of the vac system, even a tiny split in a tube or connector can cause this

I will give the blanking a go tomorrow. The only item i was unsure about on the system was the vacuum solenoid on the front of the car which is fed directly from the vacuum pump. Can these be checked by connecting to a 12v supply and a click should be heard and the air flow changes to the other port (vac out to vent)?

The other vacuum solenoid feeding the waste gate makes a constant clicking noise. Is this normal?

I have ordered new silicone tubing and will fit out the complete vac system again to ensure there are not pin hole leaks.

    Thanks for the reply guys.

This seems to be for a Vectra B, will the Vectra C setup be the same?

    Thanks
