    Default noisy and leaking injector?

Hi all, my car was ticking over outside earlier and i noticed it sounded a bit tappity. Popped the bonnet and number 3 injector seems to be blowing out oil. Also is very noisy sounds more like a tdci modeo really ticky. Im thinking injector faulty but just wondered if any one else has experienced this?

The noise is probably the gas passing the injector seal.

There is a guide on here showing how to replace the copper sealing washer.

Just done number 4 injector mate but did have to disturb number 3 to get it out to be fair. Why would it be blowing oil all around it? Or is it not oil?

    Its diesel sorry not oil.

As the cylinder is being compressed ready to ignite the fuel/air mixture its finding the least resistance and blowing some out before the rest ignites.

Its quite common on higher mileage diesel engines and if left the injector is a nightmare to get out.

i had this problem on my sri 150 ,,the 3rd injector had aload of oily /tar around its base,,,so i pulled the four injectors and replaced the 4 copper sealing washers on there bases,,,,injector 3 took me 2 hours to get out tho..alot of wiggling and oulling,,just take ur time mate,,and my best tip would be,,if an injector is stuck in hard,,,take a break and a cup of coffee if its getting to u too much..and u cant get it out,,,,trust me ,,it helps to walk away from something for a bit when things arent going ur way,,,also make sure u tighten the securing bracket for each injector down properly,,,, i made the mistake of not tightening them enuf ,,and when i had all back togehter and started the car,,she started chuffing like a steam train,,lol.... just take ur time,,,check and double check everything and u will be grand,,just make sure u change the washers NOW rather than later,,as that tar/oil/diesel substance will keep building up and make ur injector even harder to remove
