    Default why would someone change no:1 injector wire

    Hi All,
    Picked my cdti 120 up this week all seems ok apart from what i knew about the slight hesitation misfire every other trip which brings no eml up,
    I took the engine cover off to check the 3rd injector wire after reading on here about problem and found that injector 1 has had the wire replaced, Just wondering whether they done the wrong one or whether this one had a problem too, Also old guy reckons hesitation/misfire dissapeared for a while after egr was cleaned.     i can only assume the connector was faulty... the hesitation could well be egr related, try unplugging the egr & give it a run see if things improve.

    Cheers d.d Sorry for late reply been away but before set off unplugged egr and all was good for 350+ miles plugged it back in last night to test and all went sluggish again, So new egr on route as well as fiat blanking plate and gaskets, going through the service history the car has'nt been serviced at a vx maindealers since late 2008 so i am assuming the ecu is'nt updated as it was'nt available until mid 2009?? Is there any way of finding out what software is on the ecu without tech2. Thanks in advance Tommy

    Hi,Sorry don't know much about EGR's apart what people have put on this forum, regarding blanking them off, and associated problems. What puzzles me is it necessary to replace the EGR if you intend to blank it off - couldn't you just blank off a faulty one. Again apologise if I am getting it wrong but very interested.
    I also had slight hesitation on my 1.9 cdti 120 usually when changing up from 1st to 2nd gear only for a split second and coming in at around 1800 - 2000 rpm. Tried all the usual suspects and couldn't bottom it. However a couple of weeks ago my alternator failed - I replaced it and it cured the hesitation / misfire. Have heard of several issues with battery/alternator failures, power steering, abs, etc and this is obviously another.
