i wouldnt, as ive read some have an inbuilt protection, and without it you can easily ruin sat navs etc. if it was me i would wire in a new cig lighter tucked out the way and plug it into that directly, and its still all hidden

Thats what i have done. Bought a twin socket one one from Halfords, drilled a hole in the base of the center arm rest, fed the wire through and to the back of the rear ciggy lighter.

Nice tidy install, and out of sight.

i gave one away to a member on here not that long ago lol will get one and get it installed did you just tape it all or solder

solder mate. The rear was stripped out at the time, so easy to solder it rather than bodge!

Simple answer, yes as long as you re-connect it with a fuse as there is a fuse if the cig lighter plugs
