confused Fitting Parrot MKi9200 tomorrow, need advice!

    Hi guys,

I'm going to fit this kit tomorra, but, I keep seeing that it needs to be connected to permanent live and ignition etc.

I just assumed it got it's power from the radio cabling from the car. That goes into the iso SOT lead, then into the parrot loom and CD70.

Which wires do I connect to the cigarette lighter? There are 2 unconnected wires on the SOT lead, one red, one orange. Red says 12 volt ignition/switched, orange says illumination/dash light.

    Please help I'm confused now!!

I connected the 12v feed to the black wire on the back of the cigarette lighter. Worked a treat for me. I think it was a blue wire which came out of the SOT 122 harness.

You will also need to swap the two wires over which have the inline fuses. I think from memory, one is red and one orange. You want it so the top part of red connects to the fuse holder on the orange and vice versa.

The only other thing is the mute. There are 3 connections.. Again, if i remember correct it was a case of try one and see if it works then the other etc.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers for that.

I've read on here that the yellow mute wire from the parrot loom plugs into the loose pink wire on the SOT lead?

Also my SOT lead (SOT-122) does not have the blue wire, it has a red wire with 12 volt ignition/switched on it, and a orange wire with illumination/dash light on it pal?

    did mine 3 weeks ago

strangely didnt need to swap over the wires ( red/orange ) it just powered up straight away
    did have one problem

when i stopped using the parrot for say ipod the radio would come back on with volume that would blow an ear drum !!!

found out that id put the mute wire into the number 2 mute wire , tried it in number 1 mute wire and viola

youll understand what i mean by mute wires when you fit it

    word of warning
before refitting the stereo back into the cage make sure everything works , not like me !!!

It will work but does it say 'goodbye' when you switch off the ignition, and does it keep it's memory?

Actually there is, just rested it. But I still cannot get power to the parrot. All cables are connected that I can see. Stereo loom to sot lead, sot lead to cd70 and parrot loom.

Swapped the 2 fuse holders over. Just can't seem to get power. There are 2 cables on the sot lead. I'm guessing the red one needs to connect to the ciggy lighter. But tried it and still no power I need help!!!
