Sounds as if you have a broken spring.

I would approach the dealer if the car has a FVSH as it is common knowledge this issue and I have been told Vx will look sympathetically on broken springs, but on a car by car and case by case basis.

Sounds like the rear shock has seized, especially as it won't go up and down

Mine did same last week after having new rear pads and i do have a knackered absorber !

went over a speed bump and that levelled it back off but i do need to replace the abosrber check to see if theres oil residue around the absorber and check for scolloping of the tyre around the inner edge which can be another indication that an absorber has failed.

The bounce check on mine doesn't really give a good result as the springs on the veccy are stiff and my offside absorber is perfect so its compensating the load.

    good luck
