    Default Question on cdti sri 150bhp remap......

    well guys,,im considering a remap on my sri 150....... ive a few questions though,,,,,,my dmf has a alight rattle to it,,,not enough of a rattle to worry about changing it,,,but would a remap with a rattly flywheel be a big no no ??
    and also is it through that diesel remaps reduce fuel consumption ????
    and final quest,,,,what kinda increase would be considered safe,,yet reasonable ??? i.e... 150 increase to 190bhp ??????????

    Obviously putting more torque through a DMF can increase wear. However I fitted a tuning box to mine at 11K, needed to change DMF at 82K which is about normal.
    Reduction in fuel consumption is basically achieved by the 'remap' allowing you to change up sooner and need to change down less frequently, also you can get a more efficient ECU set up due to the changes.
    190BHP is quite safe, I've run mine since 11K with about that figure, now has 103K on the clock. However be meticulous with oil changes, allow the engine to cool down by not switching off for a minute or so after a high rev usage or just take it easy for the last few miles.
