A question of Turbo's

Hi,

I have a 2002 2.2 DTI with a worn Turbo. There is no way I'm paying £500 for one and have seen refurbs and exchange ones for 2.0 DTI for £300.

My question is will a 2.0 DTI turbo fit my 2.2 and will it have the same boost levels?

I have seen 2.2 turbos on ebay for £180 second hand. Keep an eye open.

has the turbo actually gone pop or are you just not getting enough boost?

The front turbine baldes are worn and you can move the shaft side to side and in and out far too much. Boost is low until 3000 rpm when it kicks in hard but only when cold. When engine warm there is little boost / lack of performance. The intercooler is full of oil as well

Bad news

The 2.2 is variable vain and the 2.0 isn't. Hopefully you can get a deal on eBay. The ones I saw for £180 weren't recon. They were from a breakers. No guarantee unfortunately. I nee one from the dealers with the vectra owners membership card was about £330-360 when I looked into this a few months ago.
