Don't buy a nearly new anything unless you've got limited edition super car cash. If you're going to keep a car for 3 years or so, buying "nearly new" 18 months to 2 years old seems to be the best trade off of value against depreciation. It's all subjective though. We all know we're going to take a hit. How big a hit we can stomach depends on our individual wallets.
