    Default Climate control

    Sorry if this is a bone question... and/or if it's in the wrong place...

    What would it take to fit automatic climate control, as found in the Elite, into a lower-spec (SRi) Vec? I'm guessing there's more to it than just swapping the control panels?

    For starters, you'd need to replace the entire motor and air distribution system behind the dash, they're totally different. Add to that all the different piping, wiring, tech 2 session etc, it's not really feasible, although it has been done before by someone on here I think.

    Interesting.... Haven't a clue but would amagine it does take a bit more than swaping the controls. I look forward to the reply's

    Thought it would be a job and a half, so will have to settle for the cheap version then - "window goes down, window goes up".

    You can still make your AC work the same as climate control.

    You just manually adjust the heater and fan setting, and use it in conjunction with the AC.

    It also interfaces with the CD70 stereo, putting information and menus up on the screen, turning the blower speed down if you get a phone call through the bluetooth, and allows you to put different temperatures tot he driver and passenger side.

    So no - I wouldn't try and do it if I were you...
