    Default blanking egr valve

    hi guys

    well just orded the blanking plate for egr my ques is...

    does the egr valve go back on top and plugged back in?

    It will through up the spanner light - no limp mode. Plugging it back up will put the spanner light out but the emissions light (little yellow engine light symbol) will come on on the bottom right hand corner of the instrument display - not great but more subtle than having the spanner light shining brightly in your face.

    take it engine off while fitting blanking plate?

    If you got the small oval blanking plate, then you do not need to remove the EGR, just undo the two bolts holding the exhaust side on, slip in the blank, and refit the bolts - simple as.
