I do not like the comparistion websites. I was getting quotes over a £1000. I go to insurers direct and this years with AXA was £521 renewed last month, £35 cheaper than last year. I pay mine up front.

there was a programme on tv other night about how claim management companies getting everyone to make claims for personal injury even if they werent injured is having a massive effect on premiums and it wont stop, having said that everytime i get a quote on moneysupermarket or gocompare its 100 quid more than then lowest on confused i know it shouldnt matter but it seems too sometimes...? anyone else?

i know what you all mean about insurance prices rising ....

last year my 2.5 V6 Jaguar X type was £ 400 through through the comparison sites ..

and this year my 2.2 direct petrol Design Vectra is £ 600 through the comparison sites ..

so what the heck is going on ??

So are we to believe the advert on T.V. that says all car owners have had an increase of upto 37 % ?? and and it doesn't matter what car you have ..

Had my father in law F'ing this evening. He has a 04 volvo v70 D5. He is a retired fireman with over 25 years no claims, never had a prang, claimed once 6 years ago when someone keyed his omega lol.

Last year he paid £258 fully comp for him and his wife (discounted through caravan club) Had a renewal this morning for ..........£455, he was not a happy bunny. After calling around and getting online quotes the cheapest he found for cover he wanted was £389....

Do the maths and its very close to the 37% rise advertised (33.5% rise)

Hopefully by December (my renewal) I would have won the lottery to pay for mine lol....

yes, this and the individuals who get their unwanted cars "written off to order" for their own financial gain
it's basically greed by a large number of corrupt motorists. we all end up paying for it - especially if you live in a high crime city like liverpool.
