    Default no clutch!!!!

Hi I had a prob with this today, pulled over and stopped car to load boot up and then went to start car and just made a clank as if misfired, it didn't start it took couple goes then it did.
The clutch pedal was very easy to depress went to pull away and nothing car don't move.
I looked to see if I had put it into 1st gear and it was,I Tryed it again and the same thing don't move,at this point I was getting annoyed as just paid out for alternator and fitting couple weeks ago. I stopped car and restarted it and clutch pedal went firm and the car pulled off as normal. Now the pedal feels harder than before or it might be
    me
Is this clutch on the way out or is it normal sometimes, the car seem ok now with clutch pedal half way before it bites, car is s 1.9. 150bhp

Sounds like the DMF has failed, taking the clutch with it
As a 2008 car it may still be under OE warranty, if so book it in NOW
If not, then look at a third party warranty that includes cover for DMF and clutch

How long is a piece of string
I first reported a suspected failed DMF in 2007 and it wasn't until 2009 when it finally failed completely

sounds like a sticking clutch bearing to me, it could be hanging up and not releasing properly

A bust flywheel will immobilise the car until it is replaced.

Is it ok to drive, seems ok through all 6 gears, its just the fact that when it happened it was in 1 st gear and car didn't move as in neutral and pedal soft to press. It's been fine since Monday.
