Dealers mate, i just ordered a shorter intake for mine for £9. That one on ebay is for a 1.8, it might be different. If you go to dealers you can be sure to get right part. For some things dealer can be cheapest and best..

well, someone on here suggested it works like airbox mod and panel filter, gets more air to engine. Not sure if the one i ordered will fit your engine tho? Depends on layout. I just thought it was worth a try for nine quid. My current intake is like the one in the ebay listing.

The airbox is the same on all engines except the VXR so that intake will fit the 2.2's airbox and its the same as my 2.2's as well

I have a 1.8. The shorter intake is for a 2.0. The air box system is similar on those two. Have a look at some pictures in how2s and see if yours is similar. If not the dealer will be able to get you the right intake for your car.
To be honest I don't reckon the shorter intake will make much difference. I just like faffing about with my car!

Only the lid of the airbox is different through the range, and that is only to send the flow to the front or back of the engine. The Airbox bases are all the same (except VXR) so that pipe will fit all none VXR's

yes just been looking in haynes manual, didn't see rushy's post. So does 2.2 have short intake or one like 1.8? The pictures in haynes manual aren't very clear(no surprise there!) All airboxes are in same place now i come to look, its just the MaF pipe points in different directions.

The my stock 2.2 intake is the same as the ebay add. The short one gives no performance increase over the long one, in fact it may even make MPG worse but only by a tiny amount. I believe this is because of the slightly warmer from the longer pipe. You'll notice in dry winter conditions your MPG is less than summer.

so how come the 2.0 can have a shorter one? I suppose since it has a turbo the air is gonna get pretty well messed with anyway so the shorter intake doesn't matter? I'm not disputing what you say, just interested. Colder air=denser air, which i thought would be better? After all thats what a turbo does isn't it? Compress air into engine, effectively increasing capacity of engine? I admit my understanding of these matters is a bit hazy!
