Cars is okay with a feather touch to accelerator as soon as i put foot down is kills engine as its not gettng enuff fuel

Plugs and filter have been changed.

Have you had the fault codes read? Sounds like coil packs to me.

its not the coil pack as all are working and its code p0300 which is a random missfire detected all coil packs have been checked car will tick over until u try to put foot down then its a no go. Car appears to get totally starved i also had code p0313 which is low fuel pressure due to empty tank however i have a half full tank of fuel go figure

you currently have a Walbro pump fitted, it sits in your fuel tank... If your are going to replace it then use a 255lph Walbro pump as its much better than the cheapest one that vauxhall decided to use (saab fitted a bigger fuel pump in their cars with this engine). I changed mine as part of an upgrade i was doing, i think i paid about £50 for it new. It had to be modded ever so slightly to fit into the same hole etc, but it was not to hard a job.

Do you know when the fuel filter was changed last? I would do that first or if you want to change the pump anyway be sure to change the filter at the same time..

With regards to the coils, they can be fine until you push the car then they can fail, I have replaced two so far, cylinder one and cylinder four. I think i will be replacing the other two anyway.. But I would start at the coils... I assume your air filter is is good nic as are your spark plugs..

just the pump... its a Walbro 255lph (litres per hour) which allows me to pump more fuel as i have bigger injectors and bigger turbo.. But the one that vx fitted in the vectra is a little weedy so when you change it its best to put the better one in.. I bought mine from a Saab parts place called Neo Brothers..

this is the one i bought, but shop around for it, call Neo Bros about it as they may be able to do you a deal, they know they fit the Vectras/Signums as well..

I dropped the fuel tank to do mine but you may wish to use the round access hatch under your rear seats as it will be easier.

I also bought the coils from them as well as the vx price was stupid.. about £100 per coil... i bought tested used ones from Neo bros for about £30 each, it was a guess to see if they would fix my misfire issue and they did.

Kewl thx for the link. It's going into the garage tommorow to confirm my susspisons as it is still driveable just. Just checked my warranty details and i have just under 3 weeks left on it lucky me. Dam car has annoyed me went to somerset and back perfectly saturday to get my facelift sri wheels for it, put them on then went to go out and it started doing this lol. Also my jack died today so now im also onto halfrauds to see what they say lol

My car looks much better on the facelift alloys also another added bonus is the wheels have got Avon sport contact tyres which are brand new on every corner. Very happy about that. The person i bought them off only charged me £300 for the wheels and tyres what a bargain.

ok.. lets hope your warranty is up to the job.. I would demand both a pump and a set of coils but the pump i have linked you to is not the one on the car but a better/uprated compatible pump of the same brand you will have fitted. It just needed a corner trimming with a knife and file to get it in but as said if your going to replace it go for the uprated product every time.. You will not need to alter the map on the car or use any tech2 diagnostic equipment on the car to use it, its plug and play..
