Question Vec B spongy brake issue

Any brake gurus out there that still log on?

as well as my signum i have an old veccy B in the fleet and i have just serviced its rear brakes. As i have never changed the brake fluid on the brakes on this car i thought i should do that as well.

I use a Gunson Easibleed kit so its almost impossible to get it wrong. I have bled the brakes on other cars before and never had an issue. However this veccy b 1.8LS V reg has some horrible spongy brakes.. If i pump the brake pedal when the engine is off the pedal is solid and does not sink to the floor, i understand that this indicates the master cylinder is fine. Its just when driving i get the spongy brake response and i am not happy to be driving it tbh.

I realize its a veccy B and we do not exactly cover them on this site but we have a lot of good knowledge on here that i need to tap into if possible..

I have read one possible contender for a fault and that was the ABS pump being at fault, I can pick these up for less then 50quid delivered from the bay or cheaper at a scrappy but have never done one before so practising taking one apart at a scrappy is probably going to be my practise or dry run. What do you think, does the ABS pump sound probable, has anybody had one go and had to replace it or change it themselves?

Air trapped in ABS module, use 'vaux-com' to activate abs whilst bleeding them, if that dont cure it it will be the ABS module at fault itself, known fault sympton is the spongy brake pedal.
