Default Federal 595RS-R tyres and Gloss black wheels

Last night I was looking for some trackday tyres to replace my Hankook RS2's!! Whilst on Mytyres.co.uk (usually expensive) I checked out the Federal 595RS-R in 235/35 x 18" and i couldn't believe the price £110 delivered....so I ordered some.

Next problem..............Wheels since talking to Spoons who recomended the Team Dynamics pro1.2 i have been looking for a deal. The 19" Snowflakes were very heavy at 15kg each, and the Dynamics pro 1.2's were much lighter at 10kg dead.
Having ordered the tyres, I rang Demon Tweeks and they had 4 [vectra] 1.2's in gloss black in stock.....off to Tweeks and:

Should look sweet, will you be 'warming them' on saturday? lol

Do you have the original GSI alloys knocking about?

I did not get the standard wheels with the car, it had the 19" snowflakes when i bought it! I will do the RR on my current tyres.

These tyres are rubbish. My mate had them on his old Vec B and they were fine in the dry, mind you they weren't brilliant, but in the wet they were dangerous...as they wore down the noise level became unbearable, as did grip. He then swapped for some Toyo tyres I don't remember that smell like manure (not kidding, they actually do!)...very grippy, but not cheap.

They ARE sold as DRY weather (bias) tyres, Demon tweaks push them as Toyo R888 equivalents, [although they are not as good having used both]!! The 595's have no sipes and minimal tread, I can not understand anyone even thinking they would be good in the wet!!
All Toyos are poor in the wet! and my R888's very noisy
I will keep you posted. They are mainly for track anyway! TBH you cannot expect that much from a tyre costing nearly half as much as a 'Premium' tyre.
