    Default Argghhh *********

I knew it wouldn't be long before something else went wrong, as i've posted before getting spanner light on startup that goes opff after 5 min, so t's a glow plug(s), decided to pop off leads and give them a spray of contact cleaner, while doing this i noticed the glow plug relay sitting at an angle, now im sure it wasn't like this before, so a poke with a screw drivwer confirmed that it is moving freely in the engine bay how and why bet it was uncle arnold when they done my stat last month, how does this thing clip back on or is it a screw that holds it in place, just fixed the under guard the other day and now this, when will it end, going to trade her in as soon is i find a suitable car of same size and same or more bhp, you know what even after the trouble ive had with this vec, I have been looking at newer vecs and maybe a vxr.

I just clips into place on the battery tray.

I had glow plugs fail not too long ago and just replaced them with some cheapies off ebay, seem to work fine.

And I'm getting the 'car & spanner' from my alternator Put a non-vx one on due to budget and am regretting it.

    Chin up

all fixed cleaned contacts on relay as well, still getting spanner light, looks like it's def new plugs i need, is the method of testing the plugs by bridging a wire from terminal plus to tip of plug and getting a spark meaning good plug and no spark bad plug a sound way to test for the dud.

That's always worked for me, obviously disconnect wires first.

I would get a single contact 12v bulb in a holder with 2 wires, say a side repeater or indicator bulb and holder
Then take the plugs off the top of the glowplugs
Put one of the wires from the bulb holder on top of a glow plug and the other wire from the bulb holder on the positive of the battery
If the bulb lights up,that glowplug works
If the bulb doesn't light up,the glow plug has gone open circuit and don't work.
    Basically

You should do it with a normal 12v bulb as there needs to be a bit of load on it when testing them.
