Hi all, i have a vectra 2.0t, i was concidering getting a k+n air filter.... can i realy expect to see any kind of improvment in performance and economy, that would warrent paying £50ish for an air filter....???

Definitely worth doing mate. Sounds better, gives a little more air to the engine so a little more oomph and financially, yeah it costs £45 ish but you never have to buy another air filter element again remember.

i would keep using the standard oem filter, it will prove a better filter for dust etc, dont give in to the K&N filter with its possible increase in 10/15bhp bull. you will see no gains, a proper intake system will cost you and it would need a good remapping to see any gains, i dont know if any are available for such an engine.

Wrong on every single count, but believe what you want

Yes I called Courtaney direct for it as I used them when tuning my old astra coupe turbo long time ago. If it's good enough for them I'll have one.

I ran the K&N and green cotton filters when I was tuning the derv VAG cars and they were ok but had lots of people over oiling them causing issues with MAFs. I've always preferred the foam ones as the spray is lighter and no need to leave it to stand after.

Both will be an improvement but on their own I dont think much of a gain will be had.
