    Exclamation Air intake warning code.

First of all hi everyone, im new on here.

Got a problem with the Vectra, and im geting sick of spending and getting no where.

The warning light on the dash came on, the spanner one. After that the car got progressively worse, no acceleration, no power, no turbo, jerking etc etc.

So, got my mate to run diagnostics. Came up with air intake fault. So, he and a couple other mechanics decided it must be the air flow meter. So, replaced that. He also found a split in the vacuum pipe which he fixed.

To start off with, was a bit better, warning light went off, turbo was kicking in again, but still felt sluggish below 2000 rpm, and jerking. Then warning light came back on, not only that, a couple days later, the emission warning light came on for a few hours.

So, now, we've decided it must be the EGR valve, so thats been ordered and just waiting to fit it.

Will this solve it? As its just been in for a service yesterday too, but they couldnt find anything either. So so far, its cost £540 and im no where closer to solving this.

    Any idead guys?

Firstly welcome to the forum secondly what engine have u got.
One thing you can do while waiting for your new egr is take your old one off and clean it if u have the 1.9 cdti (150) there is an excellent how to on here but u will need new gaskets to do it there only a few quid from the dealers

Replaced egr, has power back but, it still has the stutter occasionally. The spanner warning light comes on for about 2 mins when the engine starts up, but then goes off. Any ideas lads?

Thats indicating a non current fault code IMO.

Ar right. So the faults just need read and reset? If it was still a problem would the spanner light stay on?

spanner should go out once the engine has fired, if it stays on any longer you still have a fault somewhere...

Damn. So the fact it's on for a couple mins means I still have a fault?

What else could it be? Egr and air flow meter have been changed and all pipes/tubing checked.
