There are a few threads about upgrading TIDs to GIDs/CIDs with a CDR2005 HU, but being a tight Jock, I don't want to spend much and my CDR2005 works fine (touch wood!!). So can my present TID be swapped out for a BID, straight 1 for 1 or do I have to balls around with TechII like I would going the other way? Its an 05 1.8LS, half canbus, and any other ideas what I might need to go with it??

if you bought another screen it will have to be tech2'd to your current stereo

However!

If you buy a full size screen BID GID CID, and have an aftermarket stereo fitted (like i have) its just a plug and play

just noticed its half canbus, so you will need the wiper stalk too!

So..........BID,GID or CID with a wiper stalk + Aftermarket HU = No Tech 2,clag it all up and away we go, or BID,GID or CID + wiper stalk + CDR2005 + 32 pin plug + new diag. port + soldering iron = Tech 2, then away we go??

Hmmmmm...............let me think,lol.

Just make sure you get the right colour plug!

Think they only come in grey or yellow
