seems strange that... i wonder if they've decided to remove them for good driving behaviour if you've learnt since then

i was just reading on bbc that there is someone with 37 points driving around who didn't get banned.... wtf is that all about
and loads of others who went past 12 points but were still allowed to drive

I assume these endorsements are under 4 years old
If they are 4 years or more older, then they are removed automatically

There are several issues with unrecorded endorsements

The first is that the court record remains and can be traced
The second is that the Police Records will also show this endorsement, as supplied by the court
In the event of a further offence, these Court and Police Records are referred to, even if not showing on a driving licence

I am coming across this issue more and more, as people proceeding to court receive documents of disclosed offences which do not match their driving licence

Therefore, write to the DVLA and ask for details of all recorded endorsements
Similarly, write to the court that made the endorsement and/or sentence for confirmation of the date of offence and sentence
If the DVLA return that no offence is recorded, then send them a copy from the court and send the court the letter from the DVLA
The court may recall your case, but you do not need to attend but MUST submit your driving licence which will be backdated to that original endorsement and/or sentence

Not only that, but there are incorrectly issued driving licences out there
The DVLA was incorrectly releasing licences post-disqualification, irrespective of an extended retest being required by the court
As a result these offenders received a FULL UK licence, instead of a provisional
This went on for over 18 months, and many of those drivers did not have their licences corrected, as a result never having to sit that extended retest

You will get a letter from the dvla within a few weeks they will tell you to return your paper license. The letter will tell you if you don't return it they will revoke your licence. This happened to me.

My brother didnt get a ban either which he expected. He got 6 points 11 months after passing his test. 3 for speeding (35 in a 30) and 4 for driving without due care (went over a painted island not round it). He was in a cruise and they made an example out of him and crushed another car for no tax, insurance (2007 civic type R).
Got letter from court stating 6 points and fine amount, sent licence to DVLA. Full licence returned with 6 points showing. He called court and they said he wasnt showing as a ban, called DVLA and they said the same. I thought if you got 6 points as a new driver you got banned and had to retest?
