Alarm sensors?? Electrical people?

I am doing a bit of a modification to my roof console and want to move the alarm sensors. Will extending the wire between the sensor and the circuit board (currently about 2") make a difference to their functionaluty? Do they work by resistance, will the extra bit of wire stop them working?

Are the sensors sensitive to heat? (Want to solder on an extra 3" of wire)

I would guess you are fine by doing that.... but its a guess

cant see any problems with it as long as you use similar size wire, and try not to solder too close to sensors.
