Default Time to own up to my Faux Pas!?!

After the thread about I sold a car and having a problem.
Maybe you can help me too.

I brought my son a 2001 plate Astra 1.6 SXI from a dealer with no warranty. But said I had 30 days to come back with any problems. I gave it a quick once over looked clean only 67.000 miles on clock took it for a test drive round the block at under 30mph. It seemed ok.
Payed my money which I think was too much and left.... on my drive back noticed a very bad droning noise fron the back!! So bad it gave me a headache over 60mph on the motorway!
Took it back the next day to complain. Salesman got a mechanic to take it out for a drive and put it on the ramp, I was not allowed to see it on the ramp!! He came back and told me it was probably the tyres and that they would pick it up next week and fix it. So they took it for most of the day while I was at work and returned it saying it was fixed. They did not tell me what the problem was?!
I went to wash it the following weekend and found the paint to the front bumper was peeling off around the headlights and around the bonnet.
    I took it back again!

Now I am not sure what to do... the salesman has taken a look and said that he will take the car again for 2 days next week to sort out the paint work........... Should I get it done or should I try and get my money back??

They were probably right about the tyres causing the noise, that's often the cause on the Vec-C as well.

At 10 years old paint may well be peeling as it has most likely had a blow over at some point as most cars have had, the tyre droning sounds plausible, I would have someone have a look at the car from a local garage perhaps or a mate who can handle a spanner or two as it doesnt quote sound like a lemon just yet,,,,

I did get someone from an independant garage to take it out for a drive for me for free. when I was just worried about the noise. He said it was strange that it was noisy even at just over 30mph but said to see what it was like after they had changed the tyres. Still not sure if they changed them!! It was not till I showed it to a mate at work that he said it had been resprayed on both the back and front bumpers....... Thats why it looked so clean!! I think freshly done and now coming off!! Not such a good job!!

The tyre noise is caused by incorrect camber setting we have a lot of problems at work on Fabia and Octavia, have to adjust Octavia but Fabia's are non adjustable probably like a Astra ?
