Default Vectra cdti, ECU removal for remapping??

    Hi to All.

My first posting on here so here goes!!.
This evening i was told by my local car mapper that my Vectra cdti 150 required the ECU to be removed for mapping & that it couldn't be mapped through the ODB2 port. The car is an 04 sri cdti 150!!.
If this is ture i might be tempted to go for a box instead
In which case what would be the generally recomended box to go for
i'm after a good progressive power & econemy with relaibiulty if poss!

Not after huge power that will probably destory it...

    Thanks & regards to All.

    Phil.

There are several tuning tools that can read and write to your ECU via obd. Do you know the name on the tool your local tuner use?

dont know what they used . but mine is the 1.9 cdti (150) and had it remapped at evolutionchips near silverstone .all the guy did was take a copy off my map ,and put on a new map with the new settings we then took the car for a drive and .they said i could go back within 7 days for a refund if not happy . never went back . all this was done with just a laptop plugged into the odb socket while i watched . khalid

I would be very wary of having the ECU removed for a remap; if it gets knackered you're looking at a lot more than the price of a remap to put it right.

PM Paul_sri150, Phil . He's recently fitted a DTUK3 box, and he says it's the nuts.
