    Default DAB Radio

Will a Vauxhall DAB radio directly replace my CCR2006 radio, I know it should fit straight in, but will I need a special arieal, I understand that the old radio will need to be Tech2ed before it is removed otherwise it will not work in another car, will the new radio need to be Tech2ed into my car, cheers for any information.

I'm not sure about the ariel as I have a large base to mine, looks like a GPS one but could well be DAB.

Maybe try a good dealer who might be able to enquire for you.

BTW the DAB is excellent, up here we only have the standard BBC FM stations as well as 1 other commerical station....now I have tonnes of the DAB stations.

Cover can be a little patchy but I guess it will improve over time.

The CD's also show the track names etc when played on the info display. Which you might have to change as well...I'm not sure.

Don't know about the DAB thing Ed, but your CCR2006 won't need to be Tech 2'd before removal.

I have the CDC40 Opera DAB. When my car came the aerial was missing, despite trying 30 or so aerials from the forecourt, none worked. The Vx dealer ordered me a digital aerial and it works a treat. When I asked, I was told that there is a 12v feed to the box on the roof, a cable for FM and a cable for DAB.

Sorry you need a DAB digital aerial. I looked at this after market unit and decided to stick with what I have got.

or you could go for a splitter but I don't know anyone that has used one.

I may be wrong but I don't think the newer double DIN DAB head unit will directly swap for a CCR2006 due to the connectors and CANBUS (CCR2006 being Half Can and newer units being full can if I have read correctly). I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but worth checking out if you are unsure.
